What are storyboards?

Click on play below to watch the helpvideo

A storyboard is an ordered list of imported video clips, either from the web or from your computer. You can assemble one or many storyboards to load for live mixing or to serve as the playlist when you put your channel on autopilot.

Usually you or one of your producers would prepare a storyboard before your show airs so that you're ready to put on your best, but you can also assemble storyboards during a live show (especially if you have several producers working together).

Create a storyboard

1. Click the Manage Library tab (you are brought here automatically if you just created the channel).

2. Make sure the From the web section is showing.

3. Create a new storyboard click the New storyboard Image:NewStoryboardButton.jpg button at the bottom left of the window.

4. Give a new name to a storyboard by double-clicking over its name and typing in text.

Add Video Clips to a Storyboard

Mogulus enables you to import videos from a number of sources including YouTube, podcasts, webservers or your own desktop. Once clips are imported they are transcoded for playback on the Mogulus Broadcast Network.

Search Youtube

Click on the help video below to play.

1. To search for particular content, click on the arrow according to your type of search.

You can search by:

  • Tag
  • URL
  • Username

3. Click the Search button.

The column on the right side is filled with video clips that meet your search criteria.

You can revisit this search results list at any time; it appears with the storyboards in the list on the left side of the window.

4. Preview the clips to find the ones you want. When you find a relevant clip, drag it and drop it over a storyboard.

5. Take a break while the videos are being imported into the Mogulus system. If you click on the storyboard, you'll be able to watch their progress as they upload, and a Cue button will appear beside each clip when it's ready.

It will only take a few minutes to upload the video clips fully, but it's recommended you don't try broadcasting until they are all uploaded and ready to go.

Make sure you have permission!

You can gather content from video-on-demand web sites such as YouTube.

Most videos on these sites include a license for rebroadcast. However, some content may have been loaded without permission from the content owner and may not be copyright cleared. Be very careful—if you have doubts about the origin of some content, don't use it.

The video clips available from the Mogulus search are safe to use. Any content produced by people that you invite to participate on your channel is also clear for you to broadcast. You also have a default license to use and rebroadcast their image. These are conditions that all Mogulus users must agree to, as outlined in the terms and conditions of use.

In addition to your own original programming, you can also use existing copyright-free content on your broadcast. It is your responsibility to make sure that the content you upload for broadcast contains no copyright infringements. Mogulus will remove any account that is reported to be breaching content copyrights.
