The Mogulus team released an updated version of the Mogulus Player and Studio.
New features include :
- RSS Storyboards - Turn any Media RSS Feed into an automatically updated Mogulus storyboard. Mogulus will keep the storyboard synchronised so that when a new video podcast is published - it appears automatically in your Mogulus channel. You can make that storyboard available as a Video On Demand playlist or let it drive your auto-pilot.
- New advanced feature when using Flash Media Encoder with Mogulus : Including the ability to set an aspect ratio to support 16/9 cameras, ability to automatically add your recording to the on-demand library and auto-pilot without the need to go in the studio.
- Upload File Update : Upload Flash Video files (.FLV) directly to Mogulus without re-transcoding so that you can perform your own encoding using tools such as On2 Flix Pro (www.on2.com)

CSPAN, WUSA9, USA TODAY, KARE 11, NECN and Hawaian TV network KGMB9 used Mogulus to broadcast their official live stream of the Vice President debate on their web site. Some retransmitted the official feed while others such as CSPAN had behind the scene cameras broadcasting from the debate press room.
Here are some screenshots of their coverage using the Mogulus player :

On the other side of the border, Canadians were watching their own Presidential debate on Ontario Global New’s decision2008 Mogulus channel.

Think LiveNewsCameras but for high school football…

My employer, Gannett, which has invested in Mogulus, is about to embark on a fun project. Friday, we will have 12 live high school football games showing on LiveNewsCameras-esque widgets posted to USAToday.com and many of our local broadcast and newspaper sites. The games are being produced by our broadcast and newspaper sites as well as a high school AV department. “If we can do this with a dozen games, we can do it with +100,” Kerry Oslund, the Gannett exec behind this project told me. Most of the games are single cam, laptop, aircard + Mogulus productions.

We’re happy to announce the latest version of the Mogulus Studio and Player, released today.
The main new feature is the ability to embed on-demand videos directly.
How to use this feature:
In the studio you will see a new ‘Embed’ option for clips in your library:

Clicking ‘Embed’ will bring you to a form where you can copy the embed tags or permalink for the chosen clip:

In the player you can get to a similar form by clicking the embed icon to the side of clips in a channel’s on-demand library:

The embed tags copied from these forms creates a player that will start on your chosen clip. Of course, your viewers can always get back to watching your on-air channel by clicking on the “On-Air” button. For example:
You can also view this same clip directly using a permalink (also available from the embed forms), which will play the clip from your channel page on mogulus.com. For example:
